Frequently Asked Questions

  1.     Do You Take Insurance?

At ClearMinds, we do not directly accept insurance. However, we understand the importance of insurance coverage for our clients. While we are not in-network with specific insurance providers, we offer support as an out-of-network provider.

If you have insurance, we recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits. In many cases, you may be eligible for reimbursement for services rendered by ClearMinds. We can provide you with a detailed receipt of services known as a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

We are here to assist you throughout this process and answer any questions you may have regarding insurance and reimbursement. Our focus is on providing the highest quality care and support for your mental health needs, and we aim to make the financial aspect as transparent and accessible as possible.

  1.     What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

At ClearMinds, we have a cancellation policy to ensure that we can effectively manage our schedule and provide the best possible care to all our clients. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the vacated time slot to other clients who may need services.

You will be charged for the session if you cancel your appointment within the 24-hour window of our scheduled time. We understand that unexpected emergencies or circumstances can arise and encourage open communication. If you encounter an unforeseen situation requiring you to reschedule, contact us as soon as possible so we can work together to find a suitable solution.

We value your commitment to your mental health journey and appreciate your understanding of our cancellation policy. By adhering to this policy, we can maintain a reliable and efficient schedule, ensuring that we can provide all our clients the highest level of care.

  1.     How Long Is Each Session?

Our regular therapy sessions at ClearMinds have a duration of 50 minutes, providing ample time for meaningful exploration and progress in your therapeutic journey. This standard session length has been carefully designed to ensure optimal engagement and effective therapeutic outcomes.

However, we understand that each client’s needs and circumstances are unique. Sometimes, longer sessions may be beneficial or necessary to address specific concerns or delve deeper into therapeutic work. Suppose a more extended session suits your needs. In that case, we are open to arranging extended sessions on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that fees for more extended sessions will be adjusted accordingly and must be arranged in advance. We are committed to ensuring your therapy experience is personalized and tailored to your requirements. We are happy to discuss any specific requests or considerations you may have regarding session duration.

Our primary goal is to provide you with a comfortable and supportive environment where you can fully engage in the therapeutic process. Together, we can determine the most suitable session length to meet your unique needs and facilitate your path toward personal growth and well-being.

  1.     How Long Will I Be In Therapy/Coaching?

The length of your therapeutic or coaching journey is a unique and individual process that varies for each client. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to how long therapy will take, as it depends on various factors, including your specific goals, needs, and progress along the way.

Some clients come into therapy or coaching with specific objectives they hope to achieve. These goals may be met within a relatively short period, 1-3 months, often in a handful of sessions. Others may require a longer duration to experience significant improvements and reach their desired outcomes.

It’s essential to recognize that therapy and coaching are flexible and adaptable. Some clients may engage in therapy or coaching during challenging or stressful periods, utilizing it as a resource to navigate those situations. They may then take a break and return when they need additional support.

At ClearMinds, we prioritize supporting you in progressing toward your goals and fostering your overall well-being. We encourage open and ongoing communication throughout the therapeutic journey, including discussing your desired timeframe and expectations. Together, we can explore and reassess the duration of therapy that aligns with your needs, ensuring that you receive the support and guidance you require.

Remember, therapy is a collaborative process, and your active involvement and our therapeutic partnership will contribute to the progress you make and the duration of your therapeutic experience.

  1.     Do You Prescribe Medications?

While our team of therapists provides comprehensive mental health support, it’s important to note that they are not psychiatrists and, as such, do not have the authority to prescribe medication. Nevertheless, we recognize that medication can be an essential component of treatment in some instances when combined with psychotherapy. If, during your therapy sessions, your therapist determines that medication may be beneficial for your specific needs, we can help by referring you to a qualified psychiatrist from our trusted network of referrals. Our priority is to ensure you receive the holistic care you require, and we are committed to supporting you throughout your mental health journey.

  1.     Does What We Talk About In Therapy Kept Confidential?

Confidentiality is a fundamental pillar of therapy, as it establishes the necessary trust for successful treatment. Rest assured that the sensitive and personal information you share with your therapist will be strictly confidential, with only a few exceptions. Without your explicit consent, your therapist will not disclose this information to anyone else.

In certain situations, it may be necessary for your therapist to communicate with other healthcare team members, such as your physician, naturopath, or attorney. However, any release of information will strictly adhere to legal requirements and will only occur after obtaining your written consent. Your therapist will discuss such disclosures with you beforehand, ensuring you are fully informed and comfortable with the process.

It is important to note that therapists are legally obligated to make specific disclosures if there is a concern for your safety or the safety of others or if child abuse is suspected. However, even in these cases, your therapist will engage in a collaborative discussion, explaining the circumstances and involving you in decision-making. Maintaining your confidentiality is of utmost importance to us, and we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards to protect your privacy and foster a safe therapeutic environment.
